// FREE PROMPT DROP

One Cupid. One wet street.
One short film. Eight planned shots.

The exact shot-by-shot prompt behind the Cupid Artillery reel my wife and I made — the small arrow that fails, the molten javelin, the heart-link yank. Copy it, describe your own couple, and let the prompt drive all eight shots. No email.

Creator case study: model names, settings and generation counts describe my recorded workflow, not a controlled benchmark. Prompt instructions are targets; likeness, continuity and timing require review. Check your provider's current reference, duration, audio and pricing options before rerunning.

The exact prompt
A 15-second cinematic vertical short film, 9:16, live-action VFX realism. No text, no captions, no logos, no watermark. No dialogue, no voiceover. Diegetic sound only: city hush, footsteps on wet stone, phone taps, small bowstring snap, tiny metallic tink, wing rush, molten roar, screaming air, SLAM, crackle, gasp, fabric.

THE JOKE (every shot serves this): the small arrow does NOT work. It bounces off his phone and he never notices. So Cupid brings heavy artillery.

STYLE: prestige romantic-comedy fantasy. ONE wet historic cobblestone street at night for every couple shot — sodium lamps, wet reflections, cool blue-gray grade. The only warm color is the molten javelin and the heart link. Cupid lives on a rocky storm ledge above the city. Fine film grain, photoreal skin and cloth physics, natural motion blur only during movement. Hard cuts between shots, declared. Action-first: full-body wides carry the film; face close-ups only on Cupid (shots 4 and 8) and the embrace (shot 7).

CHARACTERS (locked, never change, no wardrobe changes):
- CUPID: one adult male love-angel. Rich deep-brown skin, dark coily hair, large cream feathered wings, red draped sash, ornate gold heart belt. Powerful, not cute. Not a cherub.
- HIM: 40s, short dark hair, salt-and-pepper goatee, charcoal date-night blazer over a dark open-collar shirt, dark trousers, polished dress shoes.
- HER: 40s, long dark hair with caramel ends, cream one-shoulder midi dress, cream trench draped over her shoulders like a cape, nude heels.

WEAPONS: shots 1–2 = one SMALL plain matte-gold arrow with a solid glossy red heart tip, fired from a small gold bow — NOT glowing, NOT molten, no fire. Shots 4–6 = one GIANT twisted molten red-orange heart-tipped arrow, thrown by hand like a javelin (never fired from a bow). The contrast IS the joke. Never two Cupids. No guns.

SHOT 1 (0:00–0:01.5) Wide on the storm ledge, then whip to a follow-cam riding directly behind the arrow. Cupid fires the SMALL gold arrow. Camera rides behind it as it dives through cloud toward the wet night street grid far below. PHYSICS: wings settle after release; cloud wisps tear past the lens. <bowstring snap, wind whistle>

SHOT 2 (0:01.5–0:02.5) Over HIS shoulder from behind and above, looking DOWN at the phone in his hand. The tiny arrow drops in, hits the BACK CASING of the phone with a metallic TINK, and BOUNCES OFF like it hit a shield, tumbling to the wet cobbles. It does NOT stick. It never touches his body. He does NOT notice: phone steady, grip unchanged, thumb keeps scrolling, no flinch, no glance. PHYSICS: hard elastic bounce, arrow spins end over end, one small bounce on stone. <tiny tink, clatter, steady phone taps>

SHOT 3 (0:02.5–0:04) SIDE-ON PROFILE to the street, mid-wide, lock-off. HIM enters from frame LEFT walking right. HER enters from frame RIGHT walking left. Opposite directions, phones up, eyes on screens. They CROSS at frame center, shoulders almost brushing, and keep walking apart. Zero eye contact. Never side by side, never facing camera together. PHYSICS: trench cape sways; wet-street reflections track their feet. <two sets of footsteps crossing, phone taps>

SHOT 4 (0:04–0:06) Close-up on Cupid, then whip pan following his reach to an extreme close-up on his fist. Irritation, jaw sets. He reaches behind his back. His fist closes around the GIANT molten heart-tipped arrow, cracked-magma texture, orange glow lighting his face from below. PHYSICS: heat shimmer, drifting embers, warm light on the wing feathers. <wing rustle, molten hum>

SHOT 5 (0:06–0:08) Wide low angle on the ledge, then follow-cam riding behind the molten arrowhead. Cupid hoists the giant javelin overhead, wings fully flared, rock debris blowing off the ledge, and THROWS it. Camera rides behind the molten head as it streaks down past dark rooftops toward the wet street, pigeons scattering. PHYSICS: debris arcs; molten trail lights the undersides of clouds; motion blur on the head only. <molten roar, screaming air>

SHOT 6 (0:08–0:11) Wide street level, lock-off, same street as shot 3. HIM and HER walk toward camera about six feet apart, phones up. A vertical MOLTEN COLUMN slams down onto the cobbles between them. The shockwave KNOCKS BOTH PHONES OUT OF THEIR HANDS — they fly and skid across the wet stone; hands empty from here on. A glowing red-gold heart link snaps taut chest-to-chest and YANKS them toward each other like a rope pulled hard: two stumbling steps each, torsos leading, arms flung back, heels sliding on wet cobbles, trench flaring, blazer flapping, hair whipping — and they COLLIDE chest to chest. PHYSICS: splash ring from the column; phones spin on wet stone; bodies jerk off balance; cloth snaps in the shockwave. <SLAM, crackle, gasp, phones skid, shoes scrape>

SHOT 7 (0:11–0:13.5) Mid-close two-shot, same spot. They collide into an embrace. Startled → eyes meet → soften → forehead near-kiss, small smiles. Soft residual heart-glow fades. No Cupid in frame. PHYSICS: trench settles; breath fogs faintly in the cool night. <fabric, soft breath, city hush>

SHOT 8 (0:13.5–0:15) Close-up on Cupid on the storm ledge, hand on hip, faint smug satisfied smirk, wings half-spread, city soft below. Hold at least 1.5 seconds. The picture ends on his face.

LAW: exactly one Cupid, one man, one woman. Wardrobe never changes. The couple stays on the same wet street in every couple shot. The small arrow FAILS before the heavy artillery. The heart link physically MOVES the couple. Real motion between shots — never a static pose change.

NEGATIVE: small arrow glowing or molten, arrow sticking in the phone, him flinching or looking at the arrow, couple walking side by side in shot 3, phones still in hand after the column, gentle lean-in instead of a yank, giant arrow fired from a bow, second cupid, baby cupid, cherub, pale marble cupid, blond cupid, rooftop, balcony, daylight, text, captions, subtitles, watermark, logo, extra characters, wardrobe change, static slideshow, pose teleport, cartoon, anime, plastic skin, beauty filter, guns, gore.

// THE TRICK

Write the joke first. Then the physics.

The reel only works because the first arrow does nothing. Every shot in the prompt is derived from that one line: the arrow bounces, he keeps scrolling, Cupid escalates. Eight timestamped shots, hard cuts declared, a physics line on each — and the camera rides the arrow twice so the flight carries the cinema.

Reference input — the Cupid character still used for his look; the prompt, not the still, drives the blocking

INPUT — the Cupid character still (look only)

Result — the couple yanked off balance by the glowing heart link on the wet street, phones dropping

OUTPUT — the heart-link yank, shot 6

  1. 01Use a video provider that supports your required duration, aspect ratio and audio. This prompt targets 9:16 and 15 seconds across eight shots; adapt the timing if the endpoint has a shorter limit. Swap the three character descriptions for your own couple and your own Cupid.
  2. 02Add reference images if your tool supports them: one still per main character. Never a still that shows a blocking you don't want — the model copies the picture over the words.
  3. 03Reroll only the shots that miss. Rewrite those shot blocks and leave every other line byte-identical.
The lever most people skip

My first cut had every character and every costume right and still died — because it skipped the setup. Without the small arrow failing there is no joke, only a big arrow.

The second thing: when the couple kept walking side by side no matter what I wrote, the fix was not more words. It was deleting the reference image that showed them side by side.
